Will I Get Paid For My First Week Of Work?

I started this job in an office building on Tuesday, May 1st. The first payday was Friday May 4th, however, I did not get paid and apparently this is because HR was setting up my direct deposit.
My second payday is tomorrow and this is when they will actually pay me.
I have 32 hours on the timesheet for my first week and 40 hours each for the two weeks since then. All my timesheets have been approved.
My question is, will I get paid for the first week on this coming payday or no? I live in Canada, so Canadian labor laws apply here.

Whats The Best Career Choice If I Want To Work With Children?

I love being around children. I graduated high school in 2010 and started college as an elementary education major. I initially wanted to be a kindergarten teacher because I spent my senior year of high school interning in a kindergarten class and fell in love with it! The problem is, every single time I tell family/friends/etc. that I want to be a teacher they tell me I should definitely rethink that decision because unfortunately it’s not a promising career field anymore. Teachers in my area (and everywhere) are getting laid off left-n-right, and more and more schools are being shut down because of budgeting issues. Also, there’s the issue that teachers are not paid well at all for what we have to do, and we are highly taken advantage of. My family keeps saying they would feel horrible if I put myself in debt from student loans etc., and get my degree just to end up with a job that has nothing to do with “elementary education”.
I understand where everyone is coming from, and the reality of the situation is really starting to hit me hard now that the school I loved and wanted to try to teach at when I graduated is being closed after this school year. So because of all this, I am starting to do research and try to find something else I could do instead of teaching.
I would love, love, love to have a career working with children that pays well, has stability, and won’t be one of the first to be cut because of economy issues. Although children are my passion some other things I enjoy a lot are: cooking, baking, photography,scrap-booking, being around animals, doing community service projects, helping people, listening to problems and trying to find solutions and did I mention being around kids? :)
I couldn’t do anything that involved sick or dying children or animals!!!! I have too much of a heart for something like that. So jobs in hospitals and veterinarian offices are not options for me. Oh and I have a weak stomach scouldn’tuldn’t deal with a career that revolved around blood or other bodily fluids on a regular basis. If you want to suggest something because of my other interests I listed please feel free to, I’m open to any suggestions.

Why Don’t People Believe That My Migraines Leave Me Too Ill To Work?

I am currently on disability for chronic migraine, I am seeing consultant neurologists and was hoping that this period of ill health was temporary and that treatment would soon see me back on my feet but so far the treatment I am getting has not been effective and is if anything getting worse and now I am suffering from persistent visual migraine aura which is supposedly very similar to being in the early stages of LSD or Mescalin intoxication.
I am not give up hope and will keep trying to fine ways to get better but some people who know I get disability benefits for migraine are so horrible to me about it, they think migraine is just a headache and don’t understand that it is a very complex disorder affecting the who central nervous system. Some family members and my partners family even have been calling me a scrounger and saying I should just take a pain killer and get back to work, if only it were that simple.
How can I make them understand that I really am ill and severely debilitated and unable to work due to my illness for the time being?

Did Not Get Paid From Work Today?

I just started working in a company this Tuesday. Human Resources set up my timesheet system for me, I submitted it my timesheet for this week, got an automated email saying it had been approved, and according to my work schedule, today was supposed to be a payday.
However, this money has not shown up in my bank account (yet).
Is that normal to happen on the first week?

What Would Happen If I Hired 22 Illegal Mexicans And Made Them Work Landscaping, Then Called Ice On Payday?

I have an offer to landscape a new apartment complex. The contract includes all materials and is soley labor intensive (digging, planting shrubs, flowers, laying down sod, spreading crushed rock, running simple drip lines) my bid was $35.000.00 and they want me to start Monday morning and be done, out and ready for ribbon cutting by Friday at 3pm. I could have one cocaine fueled lost weekend in Vegas on that check! If I call immigration an hour before the job is done, and tell them all my workers are invaders, will they send a couple buses and snap um’ up? How much time should I wait to coordinate this business decision ? I want this money to stay in AMERICA! And I can do that in Nevada. plus, I will be supporting the single mothers and gaming industry , a vital part of our economy.

Places To Work When You Turn 18?

I just turned 18 yesterday and I really want a job. I don’t want to work around fast food and most places don’t let you be a waitress until you’re 21 because you might have to serve alcohol. I don’t care if it’s minimum wage I just want to work somewhere respectable, like Victoria’s Secret or Bath and Body works. Laid back places like that where I won’t get to stressed out or anything. Please help me, I need your suggestions!
